About the Organization

NextGen Outdoors was founded by Ryan Waltz and Tiger Godwin. Ryan began a group called Get Out Alive in 2017, while Tiger operated Tiger’s Fishing Adventures separately. The two decided to merge their efforts to create NextGen Outdoors.

Its mission focuses on boys ages 8 to 17, especially those who lack a strong male role model in their lives. We are a faith-based organization that focuses on teaching about Jesus and the Bible. The aim is to create strong men who are active in both their families and communities.

Activities and programming include the following:

  • Regular Monday Night Meetings (Biweekly During the School Year)
  • Outdoor Games (Football, Baseball)
  • Dinner & Devotional Time Led by Volunteers Like Tim Bearden
  • Outdoor & Life Skills Activities
  • Fishing (Largemouth & Peacock Bass)
  • Hunting (Deer, Hog, Bear)
  • Camping & Fire-Building
  • Practical Skills, Such as Changing a Tire or Oil
  • Annual Benefit Dinner (Primary Fundraising Event)

We encourage all boys involved to be respectful at home, stay out of trouble, and maintain good grades in school.
